How to get rid of Hazardous Waste?

At San Luis Movers and Junk Removal we are often asked to haul away Household Chemicals and Cleaners. I really wish we could haul these items for our clients…but we can’t. It’s for one simple reason, it’s Illegal! San Luis Movers and Junk Removal is a licensed construction debris and furniture hauler. We are not licensed to haul liquids or chemicals. At the time of this blog post I don’t know any company located on the Central Coast that can legally haul these items except the people who process them.

In San Luis Obispo County, the Integrated Waste Management Authority oversees the disposal of household chemicals and paint.

How Do I Get Rid of My Household Chemicals?

Here’s the good news. You can haul your own Household Chemicals to any drop off location in the county. There are quite a few locations. This is a FREE service as long as the chemicals are coming from are residense.
